Ballin’ On a Budget
What’s Poppin PTCGO Store readers? Chilling Reign has been out almost two months now, and I’ve had my fair share of time to test most of the new Pokemon online decks. While some of my other articles might feature Pokemon TCG cards that may require a handful of PTCGO code cards, this article has a bunch of cheaper Pokemon online decks to build. Some of the coolest decks don’t need to cost a whole bunch, like Malamar (Chilling Reign), and they can compete with a lot of the best decks in the format. This article aims to share my favorite budget decks that are rocking out in the Chilling Reign Pokemon metagame and let you know why they are so awesome! If you’re missing any cards for these decks, use code zlesage5 to save 5% on your next order of PTCGO codes right here at PTCGO Store. That being said, let’s hop into some of these awesome decks!
1. Blissey V
Blissey V (Chilling Reign) is one of the most underrated cards from the set, and therefore it's a pretty cheap pick (check for yourself on PTCGOPrices.com). The goal with this deck is to get a bunch of Energy into your Discard Pile with Hapu (Unified Minds) and use healing cards, like Suspicious Food Tin (Champions Path), to keep Blissey V kicking for as many turns as possible. This deck is effective and cheap - what could go wrong?
Deck List

3 Capture Energy RCL 171
4 Lucky Energy CRE 158
4 Powerful {C} Energy DAA 176
3 Weakness Guard Energy UNM 213
Total Cards - 60
2. Malamar (Rapid Strike)
Usually, non-Holo Rares are generally cheap to pick up, and that's the case here with Malamar (Chilling Reign). The goal is to fill your hand with a bunch of Rapid Strike cards to hit hard with Rapid Strike Tentacles! Cinccino (Sword and Shield) can help you draw into them easily, Octillery (Battle Styles) can directly search them out, and Bruno (Battle Styles) is an amazing draw Supporter in this deck. While the effectiveness of this deck relies on the amount of Rapid Strike cards you have in your hand, it is always fun to try and get there!

3. “Baby” Single Strike Urshifu
I originally saw a video on Single Strike Urshifu (Chilling Reign) on Andrew Mahone’s Tricky Gym channel, and I instantly thought this deck was super cool. Taking the same Houndoom (Battle Styles) engine from the semi-successful Single Strike Urshifu VMAX (Battle Styles) deck and adding it to this deck to accelerate Fists of Strife works great! Since this deck doesn’t have VMAX Pokemon or really expensive Pokemon-GX in it, the deck remains effectively within the budget deck territory!
Deck List
Pokémon - 18
4 Houndour BST 95
4 Houndoom PR-SW 90
4 Single Strike Urshifu CRE 108
4 Kubfu CRE 93

4 Single Strike Energy BST 141
Total Cards - 60
4. Lucario & Melmetal-GX
Traditionally decks that feature on Tag Team Pokemon-GX and Pokemon V are on the pricier side, but most of these cards are relatively low cost. Lucario & Melmetal-GX (Unbroken Bonds) contains only eight Pokemon, nine if you toss in an Aegislash V (Vivid Voltage), so the cost mainly stays within the Trainer cards which are generally very cheap! This is one of the best Pokemon online decks we have in the entire game and can be built mostly out of promo cards from right here at the PTCGO Store.
Deck List
Pokémon - 8
2 Lucario & Melmetal-GX PR-SM 192
4 Zacian V PR-SW 18
2 Zamazenta V PR-SW 19

2 Guzma & Hala CEC 193
4 Tag Call CEC 206

Energy - 14
2 Coating {M} Energy VIV 163
1 Capture Energy RCL 171
11 Metal Energy SWSHEnergy 8
Total Cards - 60
5. Decidueye
Decidueye (Darkness Ablaze) is one of the best Pokemon Online decks in format because it stops most Pokemon VMAX, Pokemon V, and Pokemon-GX right in their tracks! Deep Forest Camo is hard to get around, and Inteleon (Chilling Reign) allows you to get close to isolating any threat that is pressing around Decidueye. It isn’t always the most fun deck to play because your opponent is always draw-passing, but winning is certainly cool too! Give this deck a whirl to take down those expensive decks, like Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX (Chilling Reign).
Deck List
Pokémon - 21
1 Snorlax PR-SW 68
4 Rowlet CEC 18
4 Decidueye SHF 76
