Top 3 Decks Heading into Worlds 2022
What’s poppin’ PTCGO store readers? I’m excited to share this article with you because I am testing for Worlds like crazy! This season of competitive play has been interesting due to the global pandemic, but things are finally back into full swing! I know I was on a roll after my finalist placement at the 2020 Oceania International Championships, but the break for a few years did set back my play more than I thought! I was able to make Top 32 at Vancouver and Top 64 at the North American International Championships - I think I got it back! At NAIC, we saw a metagame filled with Arceus VSTAR (Brilliant Stars) / Inteleon (Sword and Shield), Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR (Astral Radiance) variants, and Flying Pikachu VMAX (Celebrations) was able to take the whole event down! Since that event, the metagame has sorted itself out with online events, unofficial in real-life play, and at-home testing, but where is it at? We’ve seen everything from Mewtwo V-UNION (Sword and Shield Promo) decks pop off, Stonjourner VMAX (Sword and Shield) counter the meta, and Radiant Charizard (Pokemon GO) try their hand at being the best. Well, we are kinda stuck in between right now - the metagame is in a weird place. With about two weeks until Worlds at the time of writing, this article will share the best decks heading into the World Championships. Mewtwo V Union Maximum Control!
Hey, what's up, PTCGO Store readers? I hope you all have been having a great day! Summer is upon us, and we are closing in on the biggest event of the year! It has been over two years since Pokemon hosted a World Championship! The 2019 World Championships saw Henry Brand take down the 2019 Washington DC World Championships with Mewtwo and Mew Tag Team GX. Its incredible versatility and strength allowed it to take a stranglehold of the event and would dominate the standard format until its rotation this past year! With the 2022 World Championships fastly approaching, players from around the world are beginning to ramp up testing for the biggest event of the year! Hey there Trainers! I hope you’re enjoying the time in between NAIC and Worlds - it’s one of the most fun times to be a player because people are trying to break the format as creatively as possible! Many testing groups are keeping their decks secret, and some people are itching to test out their new concepts on the ladder. Okay, not just some - A LOT of people are trying out new concepts on the ladder! One of those unique concepts is actually this Lunatone/Solrock deck that can hit extremely hard, very fast. It can carry this pressure throughout the entirety of the game and does a really good job of it too. It’s been a scourge for any players who are testing for Worlds, but for a good reason - it wins games. Let’s chat about Lunatone/Solrock today!

Hey, what's up PTCGO Store! I am stoked to be writing another article for you all! We just saw the first 3 major tournaments conclude in the Astral Radiance format, and the metagame has been altered quite substantially. Originally, many of us thought that it would just be Palkia VSTAR (Astral Radiance), Arceus VSTAR (Brilliant Stars), and Mew VMAX (Fusion Strike) dominating the standard format. However, with that being said, the metagame has begun to develop significantly different than I think a lot of people were expecting. Yes, we still have the most popular decks performing at a high level, but we have some surprises that truly have begun to alter the metagame. Top 5 Cards in Pokemon GO
Pokemon GO, our newest Pokemon TCG set, brings the best aspects of the Pokemon TCG and the hit mobile game Pokemon GO. In this celebratory mini-set, the goal is to strengthen the bond between different areas of our Pokemon community, but there are quite a few cards that might end up seeing success at the upcoming 2022 Pokemon World Championships in London. Recently Pokemon announced that the upcoming Lost Origins set will be delayed which means that Astral Radiance will be our latest main set and Pokemon GO will be the differentiating factor heading into Worlds. Furthermore, our usual rotation of cards that happens in August / September has been pushed to early 2023 to bring us closer to Japan’s set legality. The goal of this article is to offer my fresh perspective on the best cards in the Pokemon GO TCG set for competitive play. “Rapid Revenge” - Is Rapid Strike Urshifu The BDIF?
Good morning Pokemon Trainers! I hope you’re all doing well and enjoying the release of PTCG Live! There has been a lot of hype behind this platform, and for good reason - it will be the new home for all things eSports-related in the world of Pokémon. There’s a new ranked ladder, a new currency system, and more! Important to note is that there are still PTCGO codes that can be inputted within the game, so be sure to pick some up from our store. There are a lot of new top decks but I wanted to re-review one of my favorite decks, Rapid Strike Urshifu. With its unique positioning in the format, it should be very strong against many single Prize Card Pokemon as well as Arceus VSTAR (which has been seeing an insane amount of play).
