“Super Soaker” - Suicune/Inteleon in Standard!

“Super Soaker” - Suicune/Inteleon in Standard!

Hello trainers, hope you’re enjoying the newly released Celebrations cards! At the time of this being written, the cards have been out for a few weeks now and are making a unique splash on the community. There are a solid mixture of both new cards being printed (like Zacian V as well as Zamazenta V) with the main show stopper being Mew. Mew’s ability is very reminiscent of Jirachi TEU, however, Mew doesn’t fall Asleep when it uses the ability, and also Mew can only grab Item cards. Alongside those unique playable cards, Pokémon decided to reprint some old fan favorites of cards such as Rocket’s AdminLuxray GL Lv. X and much more. Within those old reprints, they also decided to include new generation Pokémon printed in older styles (I.e. Dragapult printed as a Prime Pokémon from the HGSS era). This cool twist on a set is one of the things I love to see as both a player and long-time collector, so I applaud Pokémon for doing such a good job. The playable cards from Celebrations will be seen a decent bit, however, I wanted to talk about Suicune as a deck because it’s currently at the top of its game. The terror of standard format right now, this Legendary Dog can really make the cookie stretch considering it’s only worth a couple of Prize Cards. Without further adieu, let’s jump into why Suicune is striking terror in people right now!

Top 5 Celebrations

Top 5 Celebrations

What’s going on PTCGO Store readers? It’s ya boy Zach (@ZachLesagePTCG) and I’m here to celebrate! You might ask, “what are we celebrating?” The only answer - The 25th anniversary of Pokémon! You know, the one that Celebrations “celebrates!” While this set is an ultra-nostalgia-fueled collection of fan-favorite cards, competitive players have to look for the best cards to play in events! So if you’re a player looking for that next awesome card for your deck or a collector trying to understand why some cards are “better”, this article is for you! I’m personally loving the slight changes I’m making to my decklists, even if most are just adding Full Art copies of “Professor Oak’s” Professors Research (Celebrations), changes to the metagame can happen from a few cards alone! If you happen to be missing any of these cards from your Collection or you wanna crack open some awesome packs, use code zlesage5 to save on your order of PTCGO codes from PTCGO store! It’s a great way to build up your account and play with some awesome cards! Let’s jump into this list!

“Squid Games” - Malamar is a 1- Prize Beast!

“Squid Games” - Malamar is a 1- Prize Beast!

Top of the morning everybody! I hope you’re all having a great time enjoying Fall wherever you are in the world - the trees are turning colourful, the day is getting darker earlier, and singe Prize Card Pokemon (“single Prizers”) are coming out to play! It’s a VMAX eat VMAX world out there, and in order to get ahead in a game you’ll need to have an efficient Prize Trade. The Prize Trade refers to how quickly you can draw Prize Cards as opposed to our opponent - if you can OHKO their VMAXs turn after turn, you can draw three Prize Cards every turn. If your opponent can only OHKO your single Prizer each turn, they will only draw one Prize Card per turn; this means you would win the game far quicker than them provided you don’t hit any stumbles. Unfortunately, one of the main snags of single Prize decks is that they tend to be less consistent then other decks. Malamar, however, is a deck that spends the first few turns investing in the long-game so that it can take big OHKOs very consistently. This reason makes it one of my favourite single Prize decks, and is part of the reason why we’re going to talk about it today. Without further adieu, let’s get into Malamar!

Draft the World Tournament

Top of the morning, Trainers! Today I have a bit of a different article for you as it feels like the online circuit may be coming to a bit of a close. I wanted to cover a unique event put on by Pokémon, the “Draft the World” tournament that was most recently won by Xander Pero. It’s an interesting event where players essentially drafted high-caliber decks from previous World Championships and play different formats of Pokémon.

Keeping Up With The Meta

Keeping Up With The Meta

Hello everybody! I hope you’re all holding onto your Exp. Shares, because we’re going to tackle a wealth of knowledge in this article. I’ve been peeping all of the tournament results on the Limitless platform, which has been excellent at aiding me in monitoring data. After doing some research, it’s been awesome to go over some of the most interesting plays that I’ve seen so far in this format, as well as some of the most popular plays that are seeing success. Basically, today we’re going to study the beginning of a new post-rotation format and see how things are unfolding within the online scene. It’s important to monitor the results of major tournaments when new expansions come out because then you can have a log of how a metagame has evolved and developed into what it will be in a future state. Without further ado, let’s hop into what’s doing well right now!

Zacian V/Inteleon: Is it the BDIF Post-Rotation?

Zacian V/Inteleon: Is it the BDIF Post-Rotation?

Good morning everybody reading this article today! To those of you who aren’t, I suspect it’s just because you’re too busy buying PTCGO codes from our store and putting them into your accounts. The Atlas POG Championships are now completed, which means that we’re embarking on our new format, the 2021 rotation. This rotation occurs every year without fail, and it usually kicks off around September. The format usually feels very basic in nature because of the limited card pool, and decks that are highly consistent are oftentimes considered the best deck. The deck we’re going to talk about today, Zacian/Inteleon, is very simple in nature as well, however, it also has the ability to be very reactive with its Inteleon engineZacian is a beast in its own right because it can hit high numbers and do it at an alarmingly fast pace. This deck first came under my radar when I saw it perform well at an IRL post-rotation tournament. Now that we’re actually playing in the format, we can see Zacian decks are doing quite well - Zacian/Inteleon should prove no different. Let’s take a peek into one of my favorite decks at the moment, Zacian/Inteleon!
