Zacian V/Inteleon: Is it the BDIF Post-Rotation?

Zacian V/Inteleon: Is it the BDIF Post-Rotation?

Good morning everybody reading this article today! To those of you who aren’t, I suspect it’s just because you’re too busy buying PTCGO codes from our store and putting them into your accounts. The Atlas POG Championships are now completed, which means that we’re embarking on our new format, the 2021 rotation. This rotation occurs every year without fail, and it usually kicks off around September. The format usually feels very basic in nature because of the limited card pool, and decks that are highly consistent are oftentimes considered the best deck. The deck we’re going to talk about today, Zacian/Inteleon, is very simple in nature as well, however, it also has the ability to be very reactive with its Inteleon engineZacian is a beast in its own right because it can hit high numbers and do it at an alarmingly fast pace. This deck first came under my radar when I saw it perform well at an IRL post-rotation tournament. Now that we’re actually playing in the format, we can see Zacian decks are doing quite well - Zacian/Inteleon should prove no different. Let’s take a peek into one of my favorite decks at the moment, Zacian/Inteleon!

Different ways to play Pokemon

Different ways to play Pokemon

What’s up guys, it’s Nico again. For about a month now, I’ve been thinking a lot about things to do within the Pokémon Trading Card Game, that doesn’t necessarily involve playing the Standard ladder on PTCGO, because Evolving Skies was still on the horizon, as well as the 2022 rotation on September 10th. With those two major dates in mind, I didn’t really feel like playing ladder games with Shadow Rider Calyrex, Ice Rider Calyrex or Urshifu, because that was something that I’ve been doing for the last couple of weeks anyway, and it’s not like the majority of those games are particularly interesting.

Every year, Pokemon holds a World Championships for the VCG, TCG, And Pokken Tournament. Due to the global pandemic we have all endured, all official Play Pokemon events have been suspended for a year and a half. With this being said, the Pokemon Online Global Championships (POG) have been a “replacement” event to look forward to. Although it is run is not parallel to the World Championships, it still has given us an event to look forward to over the past two years! Last year we saw Isaiah Bradner take down the Pokemon Online Global Championships with his trusty Pikarom Vikavolt deck. It is now time to crown a new champion in the world! The 2021 rotation is set to land upon us very shortly, and gone will be set like Team UpUnbroken BondsUnified MindsHidden Fates, and Cosmic Eclipse. Although we will be losing all of these valuable sets soon, the Pokemon Online Global Championships 2021 format will include them, making it one of the only major tournaments to have this many sets legal. The POG Championships: Testing For The Format and a New Contender From Evolving Skies

The POG Championships: Testing For The Format and a New Contender From Evolving Skies

Hello PTCGO Store readers! My name is Max Leedy and this is my first article on this site. I’m a competitive player from Oregon who has been playing the game for about 5 years, and I’ve been continuing to play in online tournaments throughout the pandemic.
Last July, a specific tournament that really caught my eye was the POG Championship. It was a huge tournament with lots of community hype, exactly what I had been missing since the shutdown of official events, and I had plenty of time to test and cook up decks. Luckily enough, that same tournament is back and will be held in a brand new format. I’m here to give you a crash course in the format that POG will be held in to give you an edge going into this massive tournament. This new format is Team Up - Evolving Skies. I will be covering how it differs from the current standard, some new cards to look out for, and my favorite deck going into the new format.

“Ravin’ Rapids” - Rapid Strike Urshifu/Inteleon Wins The Player’s Cup IV!

“Ravin’ Rapids” - Rapid Strike Urshifu/Inteleon Wins The Player’s Cup IV!

Good morning Trainers! I’m here today with one of the most polarizing Pokémon online decks of our format, Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX/Inteleon, piloted by North America’s very own Alex Schemanske. They took the deck to great lengths, winning throughout many qualifiers to make it all the way to the end. If I remember correctly, Alex was also amongst the highest (if not the highest) Tournament Rep earner for Player’s Cup 3. They’ve been a mainstay performer during these online tournaments, and I see no signs of them stopping when real-life play resumes once again. Today we’re going to go over their interesting deck choice and talk about how it works alongside Chilling Reign’s card pool. Let’s get into it!

The Ultimate Guide to Custom Formats

The Ultimate Guide to Custom Formats

In recent weeks and months, custom formats in the Pokémon TCG have become increasingly popular. They provide unique learning and playing environment unparalleled by the game's normal Standard and Expanded formats due to unique rules and restrictions. If you wish to become a better deck builder or player, custom format tournaments are the perfect opportunity to do so. In my eight years playing Pokémon competitively, I have picked up a great number of deck-building insights. Popularizing Poké Dolls and Pokégears in Lucario & Melmetal Pokémon online decks this season may be my most widely known deck-building contribution, but the unprecedented sandboxes of custom formats gave me the opportunity to innovate many more ways than discovering singular cards. Custom formats have allowed me to refine my strategies and put them to the test on a consistent basis. Reading this article will give you the ability to approach creating your own tournament-ready decks in custom formats like Journey and the Gym Leader Challenge with insights that will put you ahead of the competition!
