Top 5 Best Cards in Scarlet and Violet

Top 5 Best Cards in Scarlet and Violet

What’s goin’ on, PTCGO Store readers? Have you had a chance to look at the latest Pokemon TCG set, Scarlet and Violet Base? Based on the Nintendo Switch games, Scarlet and Violet, this set features a redesign of the Pokemon TCG as we know it. All Scarlet and Violet base set and on cards feature a new silver border to bring the game’s aesthetic in line with Japan for the first time ever! On top of that, Pokemon ex returns to the Pokemon TCG for the first time in years! Pokemon ex are powerful Pokemon that Evolve from their natural Evolution line instead of having specially printed cards to Evolve from. That means Magnemite [Scarlet and Violet] evolves into Magneton [Scarlet and Violet], and then Magneton evolves into Magnezone ex [Scarlet and Violet]. This is much different than Pokemon VSTAR / VMAX cards from Sword and Shield that would have Duraludon V [Evolving Skies] evolve into a Duraludon VMAX [[Evolving Skies]. It might not sound like much of a change at first, but this places a larger emphasis on Evolution Pokemon, which is an in-game mechanic that hasn’t been as important in recent years. Things are different, things are exciting, and I am hyped to share my top 5 cards from Scarlet and Violet with you! I might even toss in a few honourable mentions too! If you wanna pick up any of the following cards when the set is released later this month on PTCG Live, pick up some codes at the PTCGO Store. You can even use code zlesage5 to save 5% on your order of codes! Let’s jump into my 5th-place pick!

Eternatus VMAX is Getting Better!

Eternatus VMAX is Getting Better!

What’s poppin’ PTCGO Store readers? Are you ready to enter into the darkness? Well, it seems like recent Knoxville Regionals Runner Up, Brandon Salazar, has with their Eternatus VMAX [Darkness Ablaze] / Galarian Weezing [Shining Fates] deck! Yeah, you read that right! Eternatus VMAX is seeing success in 2023! I know that I can’t be the only one surprised by this deck seeing success, but I think what is more surprising is that we didn’t think of this deck earlier. While this deck hasn’t seen too much success, since its early days as a top deck versus Arceus & Dialga & Palkia-GX [Cosmic Eclipse], it has silently been picking up some solid Regionals placements in our Sword and Shield to Silver Tempest / Crown Zenith format. My good friend Iyla Sutherland has been a believer in this deck since the beginning of the format, and she actually played the deck first! Iyla played Eternatus VMAX / Galarian Weezing to a top 32 finish at Orlando Regionals, and Brandon took the exact same 60-card list to a Runner Up finish at Knoxville Regionals. I could ramble on about the past history of this deck, but there is a lot of ground to cover on this awesome Pokemon TCG deck! In this article, I’ll share this successful PTCG list, the strategy, go in-depth on some key cards, and more! If you need any of the cards to build this deck, you are at the right place! Pick up some Darkness AblazeShining Fates, or even Eternatus VMAX Promo Codes to input into PTCG Live! The PTCGO store offers instant email delivery, and you start playing this deck ASAP! As an added bonus, use code zlesage5 to save 5% on all of your Pokemon TCG Live codes.

The Best Post Rotation Decks

The Best Post Rotation Decks

What’s poppin’ PTCGO Store readers? Are you getting hyped for our new 2023 Pokemon TCG Post Rotation format? I know that I am because I’ve played against one too many Lugia VSTAR (Silver Tempest) decks, and I know a lot of the community feels the same way! If you wanna know what I’m talking about, we are going to be losing cards in our Standard format starting on April 14, 2023. Losing cards might seem like a bad thing, but it allows different cards to shine, and we will be getting our new Scarlet and Violet set very soon too! The cards that we are losing are effectively Sword and Shield to Shining Fates, which are mainly the cards that are “D” block regulation (which can be found in the bottom left-hand corner of cards). Everything “E” block and forward will be legal for play! In this article, I’m going to share some of the best post Rotation Pokemon TCG decks that are performing in Japan. While I’m sure the metagame will change as the rest of the globe gets their hands on Scarlet and Violet cards, this is a solid list a few months out before it actually happens. If you wanna get a head start on building some of these decks, like Giratina VSTAR (Lost Origin), pick up some PTCG Live code cards right here at the PTCGO store. As an added bonus, you can use the code zlesage5 to save 5% and support me as a player too! I wish you the best on your pulls on Live! Let’s jump into our number 5 deck!

“Aqua Storm” - Lost Zone Kyogre Washes Standard!

Good morning Pokemon trainers! It’s been a beautiful season so far, with lots of creative plays and many new faces joining the scene. We’ve been experiencing quite the format with the release of Silver Tempest: Lugia was expected to run over the format with immense amounts of aggression, but instead we’ve been seeing other answers rise to the top. Pokemon like Vikavolt V have been seeing lots of play as well as the ever-so-popular Mew VMAX deck. Consistency has been of the utmost importance, as well as versatility - which deck rises to the occasion to meet both? Well, none other than Lost Zone Kyogre! Having lots of options to attack with in your deck is important, and this deck has a great collection of Pokemon to swing with. It also has a consistency engine to back it all up, so without further ado, let’s talk about Lost Zone Kyogre today!

Good morning Pokemon trainers! A new dawn is upon us with the release of the newest Pokemon TCG expansion: Silver Tempest. This set is brand new and has the following product description:

“Argent Adventure & Dazzling Discovery! An ominous rumble echoes in the distance, and Lugia VSTAR emerges from the ocean’s depths to answer its call! The uncharted territory lies waiting to be explored alongside Alolan Vulpix VSTAR, while Serperior, Unown, and Mawile join the expedition as Pokémon VSTAR, and a legendary battle awaits as Regieleki VMAX and Regidrago VSTAR awaken from slumber. This product description does nothing short of selling Lugia VSTAR as the top dog of this format – they mentioned it first for a reason! This card is definitely going to be the best deck in format going forward, and we’ll go over all of the reasons why throughout this article. It’s going to be one tough cookie to beat, so we’ll chat about some of the ways that people may counter this card as well. Without further ado, let’s swoop into Lugia VSTAR!

Arceus and Duraludon Gets Even Better!

Arceus and Duraludon Gets Even Better!

What’s poppin’ PTCGO Store readers? Our newest Pokemon TCG Online set, Silver Tempest, has been released, and the metagame has certainly been shaken up. There are new decks, like Lugia VSTAR [Silver Tempest], that are winning online events, and some older decks, like Mew VMAX [Fusion Strike], have recently gotten a lot stronger! You might be asking, “why is Zach talking about decks that aren’t Duraludon VMAX?” Well, let me jump into that. Lugia VSTAR is all about Special Energy, Mew VMAX is all about Special Energy, and Duraludon VMAX is all about blocking damage from Pokemon with Special Energy attached to them with its Skyscraper Ability! While those decks might have some answers to Skyscraper, most aren’t properly equipped to deal with it! And that's why I am showcasing Arceus VSTAR / Duraludon VMAX in this article today! Stay tuned for the strategy, my list, and more! If you need any cards to build this tanky Pokemon TCG deck, be sure to use code zlesage5 to save 5% at ptcgostore.com! With super fast email delivery and a large selection of  PTCGO codes, PTCGO Store has you covered for all of your Pokemon TCG Online and PTCG Live needs. Let’s jump into the strategy!

Mew is Back on Top!

Mew is Back on Top!

What’s poppin’ PTCGO Store readers? Have you been enjoying Silver Tempest? I have been having a bunch of fun with our new format, and I have a hidden gem of a deck to share with you today - Mew VMAXMew VMAX has been around since Fusion Strike and most recently getting printed as a ready-to-play League Battle Deck, but it has gained a notable tech in Silver Tempest. That card is Forest Seal Stone (Silver Tempest), and it packs a punch! It allows you to search your deck for any single card you want and gives this deck an opportunity to use a VSTAR Power. While it might still be bugged on PTCGO, you CAN use Star Alchemy under Path to the Peak (Chilling Reign) to search for an out to Path to the Peak. Yeah, you can literally use that Ability since Forest Seal Stone isn’t a “Pokemon”, and grab a Lost City (Lost Origin) to start using your Abilities again. Beyond being able to wiggle out of Path to the Peak, you can use it to search for the missing card necessary to pull off a huge turn-one combo with Meloetta (Fusion Strike). Do you need the Fusion Strike EnergyElesa’s Sparkle, or something else? Use your Forest Seal Stone to get that missing card! Even though Lugia VSTAR (Silver Tempest) is being hyped up, Mew VMAX has found itself back in the driver's seat of the metagame - it is honestly fantastic! In this article, I will explain the main strategy of Mew VMAX, share my decklist, and other important information. If you are missing any cards for this deck or any other deck, be sure to pick up some Pokemon TCG codes right from ptcgostore.com using code zlesage5 to save 5%. With instant email delivery and a large selection of codes - PTCGO Store is one of the best places to pick up codes on the internet! Let’s jump into the strategy!

Powerful Pokemon Deck - Kyurem / Palkia

Powerful Pokemon Deck - Kyurem / Palkia

What’s poppin’ PTCGO Store readers? It’s your boy Zach Lesage here, and I have yet another blog to share with you all in the Lost Origin format. Since the release of Astral Radiance, we all know that Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR (Astral Radiance) has been one of the absolute best Pokemon TCG decks, but Lost Origin brought on a new friend in the form of Kyurem VMAX (Lost Origin) to shake up the metagame. Kyurem adds a certain amount of raw power to the deck that allows it to OHKO almost any Pokemon with its sizable Max Frost attack. Pairing that with its Glaciated World Ability that works with either Rotom Phone (Champions Path) or Oranguru (Sword and Shield) allows you to tackle almost any deck. This deck has largely been one of the most played and most successful Pokemon online decks so far in our current Standard Pokemon format, and I want to share some of the best lists with you! If you are missing any of the cards, use code zlesage5 right here at the PTCGO store to save 5% on Pokemon TCG Online codes. They offer instant delivery right to your email and have a vast selection of PTCGO codes for everyone. Let’s get it!
